Karan Johar shares first look of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in Kalank

Kalank will be helmed by Abhishek Verman. Besides Alia and Varun, the film also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Producer Karan Johar on Wednesday took to social media to share the first look of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan from upcoming period drama Kalank.
Sharing this first still from Kalank, Karan wrote, “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago….a film I passionately believe in…the last film my father worked on before he left us….it was his dream to see this film come through….I couldn’t fulfil his dream then….my spirit was broken….but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid.”
The filmmaker added, “The story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice….the film has been woven, nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN….and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on…..TOMORROW the journey begins…..am excited …anxious and emotional about this one…I do hope you join us on our path to undying love…..#KALANK.”

Updated on:  March 19, 2019, 6:00 PM IST Bhopal:  A 12-year-old girl whose beheaded body was found last week in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh had been raped by her three brothers and uncle, police said on Tuesday. Police said they have arrested two of the accused brothers and the uncle, and they have confessed to the crime. They told the cops that they had gang-raped the minor girl at the uncle’s house and chopped off her head to conceal her identity. After the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, came the torture, crawling, floggings TNN Apr 13, 2019, 12:05 IST To punish Amritsar, the military ordered residents to compulsorily salute all British men, arrested hundreds without charge, tortured them and tried them under martial law. 100 years on, the British govt still refuses to apologise for the atrocities carried out in Jallianwala Across undivided Punjab, especially in Amritsar, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919 was not the end, but the beginning of suffering. The colonial administration was in no mood to relent and followed the massacre with the imposition of martial law on April 16 (and back dated to March 30) and reprisals included forced crawling in the lane where a British missionary teacher was attacked, public floggings, indiscriminate arrests and a host of other humiliations.
